This memorial is in memory of four Rochdale
writers who have preserved local dialect
for the people of Rochdale in verse and prose,
Tim Bobbin another noteworthy writers grave can be found within the grounds of St Chads Church next to the park. An interactive display on the Lancashire dialect writers can be found within Touchstones museum.
